Fresh Basil and Koroneiki Olives, Milled Together
OLYMYTHOS Basil Flavored Extra Virgin Olive Oil is made by co-extracting freshly harvested Koroneiki olives with fresh basil leaves at the producer’s family-owned olive mill in Ancient Olympia, Greece.
The olives and basil enter the crusher together, then are malaxed, extracted and filtered as one combined paste. This allows the basil’s aroma and flavor to become naturally integrated into the olive oil during production rather than added afterward as ordinary flavoring.
The result is an aromatic Greek extra virgin olive oil with a fresh, distinctly herbal basil character. It brings Mediterranean flavor to everyday cooking and offers an easy way to enhance a dish without chopping fresh herbs.
