HOW DO I KNOW I AM GETTING “THE REAL THING” WHEN THERE IS SO MUCH COUNTERFEIT OIL ON THE MARKET?
Buying from My Greek Basket it’s the easiest to make sure you are getting the “real” olive oil. Our oils’ producer, The Olive Temple, runs MyID Project for all of its products. In fact, we don’t know any other olive oil maker who does that. On each bottle of oil, you will buy from us as an exclusive Olive Temple distributor in the US, you will see a QR-code. Upon scanning it you will get access to all the info you need to know about the oil you’ve just purchased: protected geographic location, harvest date, awards, certificates, lab reports, food pairing suggestions and recipes.
IS YOUR OIL NEW HARVEST?
Yes. Olive harvest is once a year in fall. We are currently selling oil that is Fall 2022 harvest.
HOW IS YOUR OIL DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS?
We believe it has a fantastic taste. The proof is numerous awards for all extra virgin oils that we sell at numerous prestigious international competitions. Just in 2022 our Laurel & Flame Fresh EVOO won 10 awards including the “Best in the World” award. It is also made of a very rare olive variety that only grows in Ancient Olympia, has a very rich aroma and is high in polyphenols. Both of our EVOOs in the Laurel & Flame collection are certified USDA-organic. Olives are pressed within ours from harvesting because both the olive grove and the mill are under one ownership and are literally next to each other.
I HEARD WATER IS OFTEN ADDED SOMEWHERE IN THE PROCESS OF OLIVE OIL MAKING. DO YOU ADD WATER WHEN MAKING YOUR OLIVE OIL?
Unfortunately, this is often the case at many classic olive mills. We know for sure that our producer at The Olive Temple mill does not add water anywhere in the process.
ARE ALL OF YOUR OILS ORGANIC?
Formally, no. Organic certification is a complex, expensive and time-consuming process, so we have only done it for our ultra-premium Laurel & Flame collection oils so far. However, all our other oils technically can be considered organic as they are pesticide and harmful chemicals free and are made of biological olive varieties following the same clean pressing protocols as for our organic oils.
IS YOUR OIL COLD-PRESSED?
All of our oils are guaranteed to be cold-pressed. Besides, if most oils are pressed at 27-28C (81-82F), ours is pressed at 21-22C (70-71F).
WHAT IS THE PACKAGING FOR YOUR OIL?
The Laurel & Flame extra virgin olive oils come in either white or black non-transparent glass bottle packages in a cardboard tube that not only gives it an extra protection but also makes a nice gift. Our Koroneiki Robust EVOO comes in a tin tube. And our flavored oils come in dark glass bottles.
HOW DO I KNOW YOUR CLAIMS ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT ARE TRUE?
First of all, we do not “hide” our producer under a private label belonging to a third party that often acts as a producer, but is not such, or where the real producer is often not specified. We actually have a whole page of this website dedicated to our producer and their agricultural and oil making practices. Moreover, we encourage our customers to visit Greece and specifically our producer’s farm, The Olive Temple, in Ancient Olympia to see how our great tasting, top-quality oils are made, as part of our Agriturismo and Experience Greece services.
HOW QUICKLY CAN YOU ANSWER MY QUESTION?
We answer messages and emails in the order they are received and we try to respond as promptly as possible. We mostly reply within 24 hours of receiving a message or email.
CAN I CHANGE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS AFTER MY ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED?
Once an order is placed, our warehouse staff can pack and ship your order within 24 hours, so it's not always possible to process address change requests. If you notice an error, please email us ASAP with your name and order # so we can try to make a correction(s) to your package before it departs. There's no guarantee we can make it, especially once it leaves our warehouse, but we'll do everything we can!
HOW LONG IS THE PROCESSING PERIOD?
Order processing times are between 1~3 business days after the day you placed your order. Most packages are prepared within 24 hours, but if our warehouse is exceptionally backed up, processing times may go up to 3 business days following the day you placed your order.
GENERAL SHIPPING INFORMATION:
Our warehouse processes and ships out all orders Mondays - Fridays (excluding major holidays). After placing your order, your package should be shipped out within 1~2 business days after your order is placed, and you will receive an email with the tracking number soon after. USPS and UPS are our carriers for U.S customers. We also use DHL service for customers in other countries.
WILL MY ORDER COME IN ONE PACKAGE?
Depending on the size of your order you may receive separate packages that may possibly arrive 1~2 business days apart.
OUT OF STOCK/BACKORDERED ITEMS:
In the event that any of your items are out of stock, we will send you an email to let you know when we expect to have the items shipped out by. If the items are not expected to be restocked within 2 weeks, we will just automatically refund you for those items.
Our warehouse staff are super quick, so if you notice an error please email us ASAP with your name and order number so we can try to catch your package before it departs. There's no guarantee we can change it, especially once it leaves our warehouse, but we'll do everything we can!
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes we ship internationally. You will receive your shipment 5-25 days after the order is shipped. All orders are shipped out within 1 or 2 days.
I RECEIVED A DAMAGED ITEM, WHAT DO I DO?
We apologize that your shipment didn't arrive in perfect condition! Please contact us with your name and order number for further assistance.
HOW CAN I TRACK MY ORDER?
Simply go to the Track My Order link on the Home Page or in the Main Menu and input your tracking number to see where your package is. If you need further assistance, we are always willing to help you.
WHY ISN'T MY TRACKING NUMBER WORKING?
Often, tracking numbers will only function on domestic orders, as foreign postal systems will not update the location of the package in our carriers' systems. International shipping usually takes between 2-4 weeks, so you can estimate that it will take about that long from the time your package ships until you'll receive it. If your order is domestic and the tracking number doesn't work, please let us know so we can make sure that your items were properly shipped.
THE TRACKING NUMBER SAYS DELIVERED, BUT I HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY ORDER?
All domestic (U.S) delivery issues become the responsibility of USPS once it’s been shipped from our warehouse or suppliers. You can contact USPS at (800) 275-8777 to locate your package at your local post office.
WHAT DO I DO IF SOMETHING IS MISSING IN MY ORDER OR IS DAMAGED?
If any of your purchased items are missing or are damaged please contact us immediately to resolve the issue. We have a Money Back Guarantee which lasts 30 days prior to the delivery of your order so make sure to contact us within that time frame.
