We wanted to share some details to help our Canadian customers choose the best shipping option for their needs and avoid unexpected charges.
When placing an order to Canada, you’ll see three shipping carriers available: UPS, DHL, and USPS.
UPS – Often shows the lowest shipping rate at checkout. However, they charge a brokerage fee (a percentage of your order value) for clearing your package through customs. This fee can be significant. Delivery time is usually around 2 business days.
DHL – Similar delivery speed to UPS (around 2 business days) and also charges a brokerage fee. The difference is DHL’s fee is a flat$17.50 CAD for orders up to $600.
USPS – The only option with no brokerage fee. However, USPS delivery times are much longer, typically 1–4 weeks according to USPS.
These brokerage fees are applied by the carrier for handling customs clearance and acting as the broker for the shipment. Unfortunately, they are not charges we control.
We’ve had a few situations where customers were surprised by these extra costs—some even declined delivery, and others told us they felt “priced out” of their order. We hope this information helps you make an informed choice at checkout.
Tip: If you’d like to avoid brokerage fees altogether, USPS may be the best choice—just keep in mind the longer delivery time.
