Blue Aeon Sun Cream is a high-performance natural cream that unites broad mineral protection with deep, lasting nourishment, while moisturizing and protecting the skin against dryness caused by heat, wind, and salt water.
At its core lies non-nano Zinc Oxide (22–24%), one of only two minerals the FDA recognizes as safe and effective for sun protection (the other being titanium dioxide, that we would never consider using). Zinc oxide is a naturally occurring mineral found in the Earth’s crust, yet the form generally used in skincare is a lab-produced fine powder that is referred to as "nano". We specifically use the non-nano form—meaning the particles are too large to penetrate living skin layers or enter the bloodstream. Instead, they remain on the surface, physically reflecting and scattering UV rays, creating a stable, gentle shield suitable even for sensitive skin. Unlike nano zinc oxide, the non-nano grade stays within the outermost layer of the skin and is not absorbed systemically—our deliberate choice for purity and safety. This mineral filter is also reef-safe, containing no oxybenzone, octinoxate, or other compounds harmful to marine life.
Because of its non-nano particle size, the cream may appear white upon application, but it blends in easily with just a little rubbing, leaving no visible residue.
Supporting this mineral shield is a blend of botanical oils known for their natural protective and restorative qualities— each with documented SPF potential of its own:
- Raspberry Seed Oil – Reported in studies to absorb both UVB and UVA radiation; rich in tocopherols that help neutralize oxidative stress. Some research indicates SPF values up to ≈ 38.
- Carrot Seed Oil – Contains carotenoids and flavonoids believed to help the skin maintain tone and elasticity during sun exposure.
- Hazelnut Oil – Shown in laboratory testing to have mild UV-filtering capacity (around SPF 15) while restoring moisture balance without heaviness.
The base of 100 % grass-fed, grass-finished tallow provides vitamins A, D, E and K and a fatty-acid profile similar to human sebum, strengthening the skin’s barrier and leaving it supple long after exposure. A touch of beeswax enhances water resistance for comfort through swimming or perspiration.
Finally, a refined blend of Manuka, Frankincense, Myrrh, Sandalwood, and a hint of Lavender adds a subtle, resinous calm while supporting skin balance and comfort.
Free of synthetic filters, silicones, and preservatives, this is pure, intelligent sun care— protective, moisturizing, and respectful of both skin and sea.
How to Use
Apply evenly to face, neck, and exposed skin before outdoor activity. Reapply as needed after swimming, perspiration, or towel-drying.

“I am a beach person. And yes, I love the sun and belong to a growing group of those who believe that the harm we get from the sun is highly exaggerated. In my opinion, many of the sun-protection products available on the mass market are much more dangerous than the sun.
If you disagree, there are plenty of those on the market — at any price and size.
That said, I would never ‘bake’ myself under the sun — I mean, I never sunbathe or tan on purpose. But now and then I love a nice hike (especially when in Greece) and I love to swim in the ocean. Just doing those two things in the hot summer months can make one burn easily.
I also love, when on a beach vacation, to just chill under my umbrella with a book and let my body breathe in the beautiful ocean air. These are the times when the Sun Cream comes handy — and it has never failed me.”
